Australian Wool Story
Australia is one of the flattest continent on earth which provides some of the most suitable terrain for Merino sheep and of course wool. The red and black soil plains of Southern Australia have long supported the world’s greatest wool industry and the weather of Australia’s southern regions contributes to the best quality wool in the world.
Continued good average rainfall’s in these areas of Southern Australia allows the wool of Southern Australia to contain less vegetable matter which is easier for processing and of course finer micron wool.
Merino sheep
Amongst many breeds of sheep in Australia, the Merino Sheep is very unique to be able to thrive in arid pastoral areas and good rainfall areas, which gives it the ability to have a finer micron range compared to other breeds of sheep. With its characteristic to have less loose skin (like skin wrinkles) shearing can be done quite easily, safe and with a caring nature.
Lambswool
Merino lambswool is the finest, softest fleece that comes from a lamb’s first shearing with very limited amount every year. This rich and pure wool gives upmost comfort, warmth and natural softness to our skin.
